Viagra or Sildenafil Citrate is the most popular medication for treating male impotence and erectile dysfunction.

The FDA did not issue any public statement or proposed changes to the Viagra label. According to the FDA, 38 users of Viagra (Sildenafil Citrate) and five users of other drugs to treat impotence, reported a sudden and permanent blindness in one eye called non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy " [2] or NAION. But a CBS News report [3] claims that the number is much higher, and more than 800 patients and doctors have reported eye problems to the FDA after using Viagra for the past four years. Although these adverse events do not prove a link between drugs and sudden blindness, experts are watching for trends and patterns.
This type of blindness in some cases is attributed to Viagra, is caused by a blockage in blood flow to the optic nerve and is much more common in older people even before Viagra was marketed.
